We're hiring a Senior Java Support Engineer to join our team! In this support role, you'll be responsible for managing defined business applications by installing, configuring, upgrading, administering, monitoring, and maintaining them to ensure they remain correct, consistent, and available at all required times. In this role, you'll deliver minor works, estimations, design, and systems development to meet time, budget, and quality targets, while adhering to standards. You'll also drive technical investigations, participate in troubleshooting incident and problem tickets, and resolve technical issues throughout the development lifecycle. You will be rostered on a 1 in 5 support roster. If you thrive on keeping systems running smoothly and tackling technical challenges, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll deliver with us
- Implements, configures and supports applications during the hours required by the business ensuring application availability, performance, reliability, maintainability, serviceability, and capacity are provided in line with agreed service level agreements.
- Provides application support resolving all incidents and requests in line with SLAs and undertaking problem management working closely with Service Management.
- Ensures all applications adhere to security policies and appropriate escalation processes are in place for all applications.
- Writing and reviewing of application code in Java during the development life cycle and deploy it into AWS/GCP
- Documents all applications and integration components for support purposes by required standards, methods, and procedures and adheres to any applicable configuration management procedures.
- Identifies key issues and risk elements and escalates promptly.
- Supports the planning and delivers patches, maintenance releases, and all major product enhancement releases to applications and integration components.
- Works with internal and external supplier relationships to ensure new fixes and maintenance releases are delivered in a timely fashion.
About You
You bring significant experience and in-depth knowledge of development methodologies, documentation standards, and the tools required to create, test, and implement applications, as well as manage control points for day-to-day support. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, enable you to clearly articulate ideas and concepts to colleagues and stakeholders. You drive technology collaboration, ensuring team decisions are aligned with the technical roadmap, and you have a proven track record of working effectively within an ITIL environment. Comfortable working as part of a team and engaging with senior business stakeholders, you provide subject matter expertise for our platform, tools, and ways of working, helping to shape best practice and deliver value across the organisation.
You’ll also bring
- ITIL foundation certified preferred.
- Database skills (SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL) preferred.
- Intermediate/advanced Knowledge of AWS/GCP is mandatory.
- Having hands on experience with CI/CD into AWS/GCP platform.
- Having Microsoft .Net experience is an added advantage.
- API Gateway (KONG) advantageous
