About the opportunity  

This is an exciting key leadership role within our StarTrack team, based out of our Minchinbury Facility, where you will drive and lead change to help transform our business. As State Linehaul Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our NSW/ACT Road Express operations, shaping the future of our network and delivering innovative solutions.

What you’ll deliver with us  

You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of State Linehaul Services—including interstate, intrastate, and agent network.  

  • Lead and strategise on our Linehaul plan to align with our carriers, runs and provide high level of customer service to ensure we areutilising and optimising our process and delivery efficiencies
  • Collaborating and influencing with our internal and external stakeholders across processing, delivery, procurement, and support functions.
  • Ensuring safety is at the forefront, performance obligations are met, and cost-effective solutions are delivered.
  • Monitoring network performance, identifying emerging issues, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Reporting to the NSW/ACT State Operations Manager and working closely with Regional, Fleet and Facility Managers, Senior Leadership, and external Linehaul partners.
  • Manage the state Linehaul budget for Road Express (circa $75m NSW/ACT).
  • Lead continuous initiatives and track their implementation.

You’ll also need   

  • Thorough understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and its operational impact.
  • Experience leading cost-effective solutions for freight and contract negotiations and efficiency initiatives across multi-site organisations.
  • Proven ability to manage contractor workforces and navigate industrial relations.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience interpreting complex data and working in SLA environments.
  • Exposure to and experience within the transport industry.
